Hon. Desmond Elliot attended the Hollywood Weekly Event in Santa Monica California, USA where he represented the Governor of Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode and also received an award on his behalf for his commitment towards the growth of film industry in Lagos state.

Also receiving the award along side Hon. Elliot are Mrs Yetunde Simpson (Director Research department Lagos state Ministry of Tourism) and Mrs Egor.
